The Coppa Italia is just one necessity for AC Milan currently, and Geoffrey Moncada has covered the competition and other topics before kick off.
This summer is going to be big for Milan, and whilst it would be easy to get carried away in summer stories already, the Rossoneri must stay grounded. However, it is not that easy to do, especially with the magnitude of some situations.
It starts this evening, where the Diavolo can confirm a better budget for the summer with a win against Bologna – which would stamp their ticket to the Europa League. Doing so might then be the difference in the renewals of Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan.
Before kick-off this evening, Moncada discussed the situations around Milan at present with Sportmediaset, including how he feels the Rossoneri are not favourites, and his words have been relayed by Milan News.
The importance of this trophy for you… Tonight, unlike the Super Cup, are you favourites?
“We are not favorites. But it is a final, we have to win. We have done a great job to get here. There is no other option for us, only victory.”
The Future of Conceiçao…
“It doesn’t depend on tonight. We have full confidence in him, he’s a great worker. I work every day with him and Zlatan at Milanello. He knows how to win these games, he’s very strong in this.”
On renewals…
“We are working, really. Tonight we are thinking about the match. At the end of the season everything will be clearer.”
Angry about such a positive end to the season while the championship path is up and down?
“It’s the cup. The cup is very different from the championship. In the championship we made mistakes in the games, lost points against the smaller teams. We are working hard, we have clear ideas to come back next year.”
Moncada is not the first to suggest things will be spoken about at the end of the season, but that may be too late.
