Moretto: Atalanta could hijack Juve’s signing of Kalulu as inquiry is made

By Isak Möller -

Pierre Kalulu appeared to be just one step away from Juventus but it seems the defender is now having second thoughts. According to a report, AC Milan could thus open talks with Atalanta, who have enquired about the situation again.

After reaching an agreement with Milan, Juventus seemed to be just details away from announcing Kalulu, but they have been unable to convince the defender. Earlier today, the Frenchman was at the training ground and appeared to be very content.

According to Matteo Moretto, Atalanta are monitoring the situation closely and have even made a new inquiry. They want to understand if there’s a possibility of hijacking Juve’s transfer, knowing that Milan are open to the sale this transfer window.

Given Atalanta’s way of developing talents, as seen with Charles De Ketelaere, Kalulu might also be more inclined to join the Bergamo side. Not to mention that there’s less rivalry between Milan and Atalanta, which cannot be said for Milan and Juventus.

The coming days should be decisive in the matter but for now, Kalulu’s move to Juventus has been put completely on hold. In the meantime, it remains to be seen if the player will be called up for the game between Milan and Torino tomorrow.

  1. Milan is gonna give them a one year loan covering 50% of his salary. A buy in clause for
2 millions and 18 millions in bonuses if Atlanta wins the champions League, serie A and Kalulu scores 35 goals, deferred in 10 annual payments starting on 2042.

  2. Milan’s tactics for selling players are shameful…shameful…shameful. so cdk was not sold for as much as they agreed last year. the management is incompetent and should be thanked, bring Maldini back and keep Moncada and Ibra. ottavio, furlani out.

    1. Very awful and disgusting, the CDK issue just made me feel the management ain’t serious, CDK could have fetched us a clean 35mill from any EPL side. I think they just rather fu*k Club buruge than make a decent sale..

      1. cdk for crumbs, now also kalula for crumbs (not to mention loans). they managed to sell Tonali because he was the star of the club. if we can’t sell players at a decent price, then we have average players and I don’t know how we can hope for trophies. verona sold cabala to juventus for 13 million.

        1. Did you two clowns forget to go to the circus? Selling a player who flopped for €35 million is great business. Kalulu has been at Milan for 4 years, he’s had ONE good season. WTF do you get the idea that he’s worth millions from?

    1. I agree. I wasn’t too worried about Kalulu joining Juventus, but Atalanta is another story. I think they’ll be a top 4 side this season and they don’t need any help from us. If he does move I would demand full payment of his value, that is 20M, either up front as or as a paid loan, wages 100% covered and an obligation in 2025.

  3. He’s probably best suited to the back 3 at Atalanta. Letting him play his ideal position at RCB.
I assume Motta will be playing a back 4 at Juve.
