Moretto: De Ketelaere’s bonuses worth €4m will depend on 2023-24 season

Charles De Ketelaere has said yes to Atalanta and made his final training session with AC Milan this afternoon. He should undergo the medical tests in the coming days and new details have emerged regarding the bonuses.

Several sources are now reporting that there will be €4m in bonuses included in the deal, on top of the €3m paid loan, the €23m buy-out option and the 10% resale clause. The bonuses could be activated already this upcoming season, as opposed to after the eventual redemption.

According to Matteo Moretto, the bonuses will depend on Atalanta’s final position in the 2023-24 season, more specifically which European competition they will qualify for. Most likely, the bonuses completely depend on them getting Champions League football.

It remains to be seen if the bonuses then would be added as part of the capital gain that the €23m buy-out would bring, or if they would be part of the loan fee. Of course, if Atalanta decide to not redeem CDK but still active the bonuses, they would be added to the loan fee.
