Nesta praises ‘mature’ Milan and Kalulu: “The growth has been impressive”

By Isak Möller -

After the game between AC Milan and Spezia at San Siro last night, the Rossoneri legend Alessandro Nesta spoke about the growth of this team. He also singled out Pierre Kalulu as a symbol of the entire project.

Milan clinched three important points against Spezia as Napoli managed to beat Atalanta earlier in the evening. The gap is still six points, therefore, and it will be important for Stefano Pioli’s men to keep up with the Partenopei.

Speaking to DAZN, as cited by SempreMilan.it, Alessandro Nesta spoke about the recent success of this Milan side. He also had some extra praise for Pierre Kalulu, who arrived for more or less nothing in the summer of 2020.

On the game…

“It was the usual Milan. Even if they slip, they have clear ideas and are convinced of them. They have become a tough and mature team.”

On the player who surprised him the most…

“Kalulu arrived as an average player, the growth has been impressive. Against Salzburg he played as a true defender, he put in some important actions.”

On Maldini in the stands after Daniel’s goal…

“In my opinion, he was happy (laughs).”

Milan will face Cremonese on Tuesday and then Fiorentina on Sunday, which are the last two games before the World Cup break. Hopefully, the Rossoneri will finish the first half of the season on a strong note.
