Nesta praises the heart of Milan’s defence and previews Roma encounter

AC Milan will take on Roma tomorrow evening and it’s a very important game in the Scudetto race. Legendary Rossoneri man Alessandro Nesta has shared his thoughts on the clash and also praised a special duo.

The Rossoneri started 2023 in the best way possible by beating Salernitana 2-1. It should have been a bigger win but at least they secured the three points, which was even more important considering that Napoli lost against Inter.

With five points separating Milan and Napoli in the Scudetto race, the Rossoneri are keen on putting in a strong performance and adding another win to their tally tomorrow. Speaking to Lega Serie A, as cited by MilanNews, Nesta shared his thoughts.

On Tomori and Kalulu…

“For me, Milan have signed functional players based on how they want to play. They want to press high and to be close to their opponents. Therefore, they need good players, to work on them and improve them. As such, Tomori and Kalulu are two perfect profiles for Milan, that’s why the tactical part goes hand in hand with mercato strategy.”

Tomorrow’s match against Roma…

“The most important characteristic for a defender is to be concentrated for so many minutes and for so many games. I think Roma lacks this a bit. They have strong players, but every now and then they still don’t have the necessary concentration to avoid conceding goals,” he stated.

The game is scheduled for 20:45 CET and San Siro is sold out. The support of the fans won’t be lacking, in other words, and it could make for a spectacular return to the stadium (first game since the World Cup break).
