Official: Donnarumma and Romagnoli called up for international duty

Roberto Mancini has named his Italy squad for the European qualifying matches against Greece and Liechtenstein next week. Among the 27 players called up, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Alessio Romagnoli are present.

The Rossoneri duo hasn’t had the best of starts to the season, as Milan have failed to win four of the first six games. However, under the circumstances, they have performed well and thus they have been awarded a call-up to the National team.

Of course, this doesn’t come as a surprise, since both have been regulars with the team for a while now. The goalkeeper is considered to be the heir to Buffon, while the captain is still working to make a name for himself with the Azzurri shirt.

However, they will have to switch focus to AC Milan as an important clash against Genoa awaits on Saturday evening. Should they fail to win, the manager Marco Giampaolo could lose his job with the San Siro side.
