Lecce have announced the signing of Lorenzo Colombo on a permanent basis, triggering the buy-out clause in the loan deal. However, they can’t be sure that he will remain for next season, as Milan have a clause of their own.
Colombo had a good season on loan at Lecce, scoring the decisive goal which secured Serie A salvation. In total, he got six goals and assisted an additional two, but he showed his talent and quality across the 34 appearances.
On their official website, Lecce have announced that they have triggered the buy-out clause in the loan deal. However, Milan also have a buy-back clause and could thus bring the striker back this summer.
“US Lecce announces that it has exercised the buy-out option for the definitive acquisition of the footballer Lorenzo Colombo from AC Milan, which retains the right of the buy-back clause,” the statement read.
Lecce paid €2.5m for the buy-out and Milan’s buy-back stands at €3.5m. The Rossoneri are set to pay that amount and it remains to be seen where Colombo will end up next, with another loan expected.
Buy him back, loan him to Lecce again with a similar deal. That’s a low price for Milan to pay to have another team develop their young player with game time. In fact, loan CDK to them as well…

thats not how it works the leece has buy clause at 2.5 mil and milan a buyback clause set at 3.5 there is no bargaining position and as the player is already worth more than what we will have to pay it wouldnt make any sense to buy the player back.

i think better let him play there for 1 or 2 years more to be consistent goal scorer then buy him back later, i imagine he became like Belotti at Torino
