Official: Milan and Ibrahimovic appoint new ‘Performance Manager’ Steve Tashjian

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have identified and hired a new Performance Manager for the first team, namely Steve Tashjian. The latter confirmed this on his LinkedIn and it’s believed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic pushed for his arrival.

In the past, Tashjian has worked with the likes of Everton, Columbus Crew and the US National team as a Performance Manager. Since 2019, he has been working as a consultant through his company The Eleveation Project, with clients such as New York FC, Orlando City and Colorado Rapids.

His latest client, as announced on his LinkedIn a week ago, is AC Milan and he will be working with ‘an exciting high performance project’. This is another step in the right direction for the Rossoneri, who struggled with many injuries at the start of this season.

As reported by La Repubblica, as cited by Francesco Nasato, Ibrahimovic was one of the Milan figures that pushed for Tashjian’s arrival. The likes of Yunus Musah and Christian Pulisic also know Tashijan very well from his time with the national team.

In addition to Tashjian, another American Jovan Kirovski is also set to join Milan on the orders of Ibrahimovic. Milan are making moves ahead of next season, in other words.

American ownership influenced by NFL business model fired up with “razzmatazz” just doesn’t work for European football. It’s done more damage than good.
