Official: Pioli names 19-man squad for Udinese clash – Three notable absentees

By Isak Möller -

On the eve of the game against Udinese, which is scheduled for 12:30 at the San Siro, Stefano Pioli has named his squad. Due to several injuries, there are only 19 players included in the list.

Davide Calabria, Hakan Calhanoglu, Gigio Donnarumma and Mateo Musacchio all missed the Coppa Italia game against SPAL during the week. Initial reports suggested that only the Turk would recover in time for tomorrow’s clash, but this isn’t the case.

Instead, Donnarumma has been included in the squad, while the others are still out. Then again, this doesn’t mean that the goalkeeper will play from the first minute, as Asmir Begovic is set to make his debut for the club.

Having made his debut last time out, Simon Kjaer will partner up with Alessio Romagnoli once again due to Musacchio’s injury. He wasn’t really tested during the game but looked composed whenever he was on the ball.

Goalkeepers: Begović, A. Donnarumma, G. Donnarumma.

Defenders: Conti, Gabbia, Hernández, Kjær, Romagnoli.

Midfielders: Bennacer, Bonaventura, Kessie, Krunić, Paquetá.

Forwards: Castillejo, Ibrahimović, Leão, Piątek, Rebić, Suso.
