Ordine believes that Milan ‘settled unfinished business’ against Fiorentina

By Ben Dixon -

In Saturday’s game against Fiorentina, AC Milan showed they can progress further, even after having an exceptional start to 2024. This morning, Franco Ordine offered some insight into the performance and praised the Rossoneri for several areas of their performance.

Milan can take several positives from the game: Mike Maignan was impressive, and Rafael Leao led the left-hand side with Theo Hernandez absent through suspension. Above all, though, the Diavolo moved six points clear of Juventus, which will be very appreciated by the club’s senior figures.

In his column for Il Giornale, Ordine (via PianetaMilan) claimed that the Rossoneri settled several areas of unfinished business. Theo’s absence was not felt, Maignan performed excellently, and Pioli strengthened arguments in favour of him staying with another victory.

Additionally, although Milan were wasteful with some of the chances they created, they still made them, which shows promise of things to come, even if it was frustrating on the day. Ordine also highlighted Samuel Chukwueze’s performance, stating that La Viola struggled against the winger due to his liveliness.

There have been several areas where Milan have needed to show improvements this season, and on Saturday, the Rossoneri showed glimpses that they were very close to where they need to be.
