After a successful first six months with the club, Lucas Paqueta and Kris Piatek have both failed to live up to expectations this season. Therefore, in recent weeks, there have been talks of a potential exit for both of them.
However, when Milan signed them back in January this year, they made two very hefty investments. As highlighted on Gianluca Di Marzio’s website today, the two are the most expensive January signings in the history of Serie A.
In other words, it would be quite the failure if the Rossoneri get rid of both of them just one year later. Paqueta tops the list, costing a total of €38.4m, while Piatek arrived from Genoa for a total of €38m.
In third place on the list, we find Clarence Seedorf. The former AC Milan man moved to Inter from Real Madrid back in 2000, costing the Nerazzurri a total of €25m. Back then, that was certainly a lot of money to spend on a player.
