Photo: Average position of each Milan player in important win vs. Udinese

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan started the season with a win last night as four goals were enough to beat Udinese at San Siro. There are still some things to work on but the Rossoneri’s identity is clear.

Over the last few years, Milan have struggled against Udinese and yesterday was no exception, seeing as they did concede twice. On the other hand, they were simply too strong in attack to lose this game.

Brahim Diaz, who was named MOTM by Gazzetta Dello Sport, was positioned more to the right as seen in the average positions graphic below. And that’s where Milan created most of their chances last night, which isn’t what we’re used to seeing.

    1. Just play CDK at RW. Even though last season, he is listed as CF on paper, his heat map position is actually 45% at RW and 45% at LW.
