Ismael Bennacer made his comeback yesterday evening, coming off the bench for AC Milan in the 3-1 win against Frosinone. On his social media channels, he published a heartwarming message after the game.
Bennacer sustained an injury in the UCL semi-final against Inter back in May. He was forced to undergo surgery and has since been working very hard on his recovery. Yesterday, he finally got to make his comeback, coming on for the final 12 minutes of the game.
On his social media channels, the midfielder published a heartwarming message about what has been a tough process, though with a positive outcome. As he stated, he now has even more determination and passion.

“After seven months of perseverance, struggle and hard work, I finally see the light at the end of this long tunnel.
“On May 10, my injury represented an unexpected turning point in my career. I did my best to take the positive out of this ordeal, seeing it as an opportunity to come back better.
“A huge thank you to everyone who has been by my side on this journey to recovery. Surgeons, physiotherapists and all members of the medical staff.
“A huge thank you to my club and my federation. A hug to my family and loved ones. And to you, fans, thank you for your support which has been of great help to me.
“I return with ever greater determination and passion.
“Forza Milan.”

Bennacer’s immediate goal will be to restore match fitness, which will take a few weeks at least. Then, it remains to be seen if he will be called up by Algeria for the AFCON. In an interview yesterday, he stated that he won’t go unless he’s back at 100% fitness.
