Tuttosport: Pioli seeking assurances from depth players before season restarts

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli hopes to discover some more guarantees about his squad while at the winter retreat in Dubai, a report claims.

Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) report how Milan might have lost the friendly match against Arsenal on Tuesday but there were some positives to take from the performance, starting with Divock Origi who was involved and missed a good chance from Adli’s cross but almost scored a wondergoal when he span his man and hit the crossbar from 20 yards out.

Yacine Adli also did well, showing initiative and quality in his choices. In addition to having crossed to Origi for his second chance, he showed confidence and dynamism in possession. He was perhaps a bit lazy reading Ciprian Tătărușanu’s pass that led to Arsenal’s second goal.

Aster Vranckx did well in front of the defence and Tommaso Pobega actually performed rather well in a left-back role, one he has never performed before. On the other hand, Ante Rebić must find some form as he was among the disappointments on the pitch.

In addition to Origi, Adli and Vranckx, Milan are awaiting above all the explosion of Charles De Ketelaere who cost €35m, and the upcoming games against Liverpool and PSV will provide further indications.
