Pioli believes De Ketelaere can follow the path of Leao, Tonali and Kalulu

Stefano Pioli believes that Charles De Ketelaere will emerge from the difficult moment he is having and praised Rafael Leao for his gesture during the Spurs game.

De Ketelaere is still yet to score a goal for Milan since his big money move from Club Brugge during the summer window, and he is stuck on one assist which he got early in the season against Bologna.

It seems that the Belgian now has a role as the deputy to Brahim Diaz but tomorrow’s game against Monza could provide a new opportunity for him to impress. Pioli, meanwhile, believes that the support of his team-mates is important as he spoke in his pre-match press conference.

“Our strength is the group, everyone helps each other. Leao, Tonali and Kalulu have experienced similar moments and therefore the support for Charles is important. I’m sure he will give us some satisfaction,” he said.

De Ketelaere had a huge chance to make it 2-0 against Spurs when Giroud won an aerial ball that found the playmaker in behind, though his downward header was just about deflected behind for a corner. Afterwards, Leao was seen encouraging his team-mate.

“The desire to help each other has never been lacking. In difficult times, having someone close to help you and give you advice is important, especially for such young kids.”
