The media have pitched it as a battle between Brahim Diaz and Charles De Ketelaere for the role of playmaker, but they could reportedly end up playing together.
This morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) focuses on tonight’s match against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League group stages and then also the big league game against Napoli at San Siro on Sunday night.
There was supposed to be relay between the two attacking midfielders Diaz and De Ketelaere as part of the natural order of things, and tonight in particular it is still expected happen with the game in progress (i.e. the Belgian coming off the bench or vice versa).
However, while the Spaniard at this moment appears to have an advantage over De Ketelaere in the bid to start, it is not impossible that the two can play together, with the former Club Brugge star leading the line to give Giroud some rest and Brahim behind him.
