Ahead of the crucial clash against Paris Saint-Germain, Stefano Pioli spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on AC Milan’s task. He admitted that there is some pressure on the Rossoneri after two draws.
Milan could really use the win, or at least another draw, to make their goal of reaching the round of 16 achievable. Tonight’s clash will not be easy, but now is the time to show that the two previous draws were indeed unlucky.
Speaking to Prime, as cited by MilanNews, Pioli shared his thoughts on tonight’s clash and what it means for the group. He admitted that there is some pressure on his side to come away with a good result.
On the game…
“This is an important evening, an emotionally interesting and technically difficult match, which must be played with our ideas.”
Are PSG feeling the pressure more than you?
“The motivation is at the top for both teams and all four teams in the group know that every match will count for qualification. The pressure is there, but it’s what we were looking for. We need a high-level match.”
What did you say to Donnarumma?
“We said hello to each other, we will say goodbye with affection today.”
Milan will face PSG at home in the next round and tonight’s game is thus also important from a physiological point of view ahead of the second encounter. It remains to be seen if Pioli’s men can respond.
