Pioli shares thoughts on the ‘exceptional’ work Ibrahimovic puts in to help Milan

By Isak Möller -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has recovered from the knee overload that kept him out for the last three games and will be on the bench for Lazio-Milan tomorrow. A return that will give Stefano Pioli and his men a boost.

Since returning to the club in January of 2020, the now 40-year-old has been a key player for Milan. In addition to scoring goals, he has helped restore the important mentality that existed during his first spell at the club.

His importance, therefore, cannot be disregarded and his return for the final five games of the season could prove to be crucial. During today’s press conference, which you can read here, Pioli heaped praise on Ibrahimovic.

“Zlatan is still the beacon of this team. His willpower is indomitable, what he’s doing to be available and to help is exceptional. He did well in training yesterday and will travel with us, as well as Ante who is doing well. We are ready for tomorrow’s match,” he stated.

As said, Ibrahimovic will be on the bench tomorrow and it remains to be seen if he will get some minutes. It will obviously depend a lot on the score and the performance of Olivier Giroud, who will be the starting striker.
