Pioli provides funny response to three-man midfield idea: “Let’s put it this way”

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will take on Inter at San Siro tomorrow evening and Stefano Pioli is expected to change the formation for the game. Instead of the 4-2-3-1, he could use the 4-3-3 formation, as was hinted today.

Based on the training sessions and media reports this week, Pioli is almost certain to field a 4-3-3 formation tomorrow. After conceding 12 (!) goals in three games, the manager wants to give the defence more protection from the midfield.

Speaking at his press conference earlier today, which you can read in full here, Pioli was asked about the idea of fielding a three-man midfield. He provided a rather funny response, knowing full well it’s not a big secret any longer.

“Three-man midfield? I don’t know. Or let’s put it this way, I know, but I won’t tell you today,” he stated.

The game is scheduled for 20:45 CET and as San Siro is sold out, it should be a great atmosphere underneath the floodlights. Hopefully, Milan can bounce back and claim all three points tomorrow.
