Pioli will not host a press conference for Empoli encounter – the reason

By Isak Möller -

Stefano Pioli will not speak to the media at his usual pre-match press conference for the encounter with Empoli. It’s a decision that he took along with the media department, seeing as the schedule is rather tight.

Pioli usually speaks to the media on the eve of the game, answering the questions of the media at 14:00 or 14:30. However, this will not be the case today as the manager has decided not to have a press conference, which makes sense when you think about it.

As Milan faced Slavia Praha on Thursday, Pioli spoke at the press conference on Wednesday and also answered questions after the game. Therefore, he – along with the media department – felt that there was no need for a press today as well.

The same decision was taken ahead of the game against Monza, following the 3-0 win against Stade Rennes, and it will likely be the case moving forward too. That is, of course, provided that the Rossoneri make it through to the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

On another note, Pioli is expected to make some changes to the starting XI, with Noah Okafor replacing Rafael Leao being one of them. The Portuguese winger is suspended and it remains to be seen how missed he will be.
