Pioli reveals Milan have asked for Spurs clash to be postponed by ten minutes

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the clash between AC Milan and Tottenham, Stefano Pioli spoke briefly to the media about the Rossoneri’s situation. He revealed that they have requested a slight postponement amid the traffic chaos in London.

Both Milan and Tottenham arrived late at the stadium this evening due to traffic chaos in the area of the stadium. Normally, the Rossoneri arrive more than an hour before the game to give them proper time to prepare.

Speaking to Prime Video, as cited by MilanNews, Pioli revealed that Milan have asked UEFA for a ten-minute delay but that no response has been provided as of yet. Update: a 10-minute postponement has been granted by UEFA.

Have you requested a postponement?

“Yes, 10 minutes but they haven’t given us an answer yet”.

On the match…

“Important encounter. We want to go through, we will face the match with great energy.”

What did you tell the team after the Fiorentina defeat?

“Florence is another story, another competition. We only talked about this match.”

How did you decide the XI?

“By fielding those who are better off.”

Milan have a 1-0 lead on aggregate but it won’t be easy for them to go through, as Tottenham have done very well on their home turf this season. Fortunately, there could be as many as 5k Rossoneri fans inside the stadium tonight.
