Following the comfortable 2-0 win against Bologna, AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli praised his players for the performance. He also confirmed that the Rossoneri have signed Malick Thiaw from Schalke 04.
The Rossoneri got back to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 win this evening, thanks to goals from Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud, capitalising on Inter’s defeat yesterday. Off the pitch, there has also been some movement.
Speaking to Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Pioli praised his players for tonight’s game and he also confirmed the signing of Thiaw. It’s a welcome addition for the manager as Milan have been looking for a centre-back all summer.

It remains to be seen what will happen with Matteo Gabbia now. He’s a useful player for the UEFA squad list but a loan move could do him well, seeing as he won’t get much playing time at Milan despite the tight schedule.

I thought the team did quite well tonight ,and I thought Oliver Girouds hold up play was very good ,as it left space for other players to move into ,and yes he scored a good goal also …We can and will get even better ,,,with have a good squad which we will need with all the games coming up in quick succession..

There is still a problem in the right and we badly miss another box to box. Adli is very soft so we have only Benacer. This is the problem. Hope they will bring one more player this summer.

Does it means position/role flexibility? I read in transfermarkt that Thiaw played as DM/CM 18 times, he also had 2 assist in 2 appearances playing as CF.

No club are willing to buy 33 years player that already suffer ACL, just respect his contribution for AC Milan and let him finish his contract. Loan gabbia to club that guaranteed playtime and use primavera player for 5th choice CB . Gabbia need play time to replace kjaer after his contract expire
Keep all CB and add Thiaw as safety, give Gabbia enough minutes through rotation in this busy schedule.
We are not in Football Manager, its real world. Real strategy is not plug and play, it consist of a lot of factors. Youths isnt always better than oldies.
Kjaer is a leader. He has a lot of experience and able to read the game well, it’s enable him to compete and better younger, faster strikers. I don’t know in the future, but currently he is more useful and dependable than Gabbia.
