Pioli tight-lipped when asked about future of Donnarumma: “Our future is now”

Gigio Donnarumma has been a key player for Milan this season and he’s considered as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Therefore, it’s a bit worrying that his contract will expire in the summer.

Obviously, it would be a huge blow for the Rossoneri to lose their star for free in the summer. At the same time, it would be against their policy to succumb to Mino Raiola’s demands, which are simply too high for the club.

This makes the situation very complicated, though Milan have remained calm throughout the process. The fans, on the other hand, are starting to lose their patience and Stefano Pioli was asked about the matter during today’s press conference.

Have you talked to Donnarumma?

“I speak constantly with the players. Our future is now. Gigio knows how important tomorrow’s game is, just like the team. For other situations, I’m fortunate to have a very attentive club. Maldini spoke appropriately last Saturday before the match. We are all concentrated at Milanello,” he said as cited by MilanNews.

You can read Paolo Maldini’s words here, but it’s clear that Donnarumma will soon have to make a decision on his future. He can only let Raiola handle things to a certain extent, as he risks (and already has) upsetting the fans.
