GdS: Pioli to field a very attacking line-up vs. Dinamo – De Ketelaere on pole to start

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan face a must-win game against Dinamo Zagreb at the Stadion Maksimir this evening, and Stefano Pioli’s selection decisions should show it.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Pioli has decided to field a rather attacking formation with Ante Rebic on the right wing, Rafael Leao on the left and Olivier Giroud as the centre-forward. To offer more balance, Rade Krunic seemed to be the favourite for the role of attacking midfielder, but now Charles De Ketelaere is on pole.

With the Rebic-Giroud-Leao trio, the most logical choice as a matter of balance, seemed to be to insert Krunic as No.10 because of his work rate and his hustle, but instead it should be the Belgian to start his first game since injury.

There is no doubt about De Ketelaere’s talent, but he probably needs a spark to explode and return to being as decisive as he was at Club Brugge, and what better occasion to do it than tonight?

The 21-year-old missed a big chance to make it 5-1 against Monza off the bench on Saturday and left the field without joining the post-match celebrations under the Curva, but he should definitely have better numbers than he does currently.
