Pioli reveals what Ibrahimovic asked him over text about the Milan squad

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli has revealed that he has held conversations with Zlatan Ibrahimovic regarding the current state of the AC Milan squad, and that his Miami vacation was pre-planned.

A number of sources have claimed over the past couple of days that Ibrahimovic will not be at the Sassuolo game, which is certainly a talking point for those who were expecting him to be close to the team and Pioli in a difficult moment.

Instead the Swede posted a video of himself on the beach in Miami performing an overhead kick to the music of Dr. Dre. Given that this is 8,000 miles away from Milanello, this ‘Christmas holiday’ in Florida seems something he already had planned before his signing with RedBird as an advisor.

Pioli spoke during his pre-match press conference on the eve of the game against Sassuolo and he was asked if Ibrahimovic would be back at San Siro for the game, and if he has spoken to him regarding recent events.

“I know he had already made this commitment before coming back here. I don’t think that’s the problem. He told me he was leaving because he had already made this commitment,” he said.

“Have I spoken to him? We spoke via messages, he asked me how the team trained and what the sensations were, as we always do.”

  1. This just in, straight from someone with access to Pioloi’s phone:

Pioli – All these injuries Zlatan. We are hosed.
Zlatan – Yes Stefano. Yes you are.
Zlatan – Want to touch my bicep? It’s good luck and you will grow hair.

  2. So Zlatan is here but he’s not. He probably won’t attend games against Sassuolo, Coppa game against Cagliari and then Empoli. What’s up with that? He became an errand boy too?
