Pobega praised by newspapers for ‘adding physicality’ in Italy’s win over England

Tommaso Pobega came off the bench for Italy in their 1-0 win against England last night, putting in a good performance underneath the San Siro floodlights. In fact, the newspapers praised the midfielder.

Pobega has done quite well for Milan at the start of this season, getting his first goal in the UCL clash against Dinamo Zagreb, for example. He earned himself a call-up to the Italian national team and he made an appearance against England last night.

He came on in the 63rd minute and five minutes later, Giacomo Raspadori scored what ended up being the winner for the Azzurri. As collected by MilanNews, Gazzetta Dello Sport, Corriere Dello Sport and La Stampa all gave Pobega a 6/10.

He ‘made himself heard in the midfield’, ‘adding physicality when needed’ and ‘entered the game with courage’. This was the main takeaway of the newspapers and it’s clear that Pobega is growing a lot, having only just adapted to the system of Milan (which isn’t easy).
