MN: Probable Milan XI to face Salernitana – Pellegri gets the nod; six changes

By Isak Möller -

Tomorrow afternoon, AC Milan will take on Salernitana at San Siro following the important 3-0 win against Genoa. Given that the Rossoneri will face Liverpool on Tuesday evening, some changes are expected to the XI.

Stefano Pioli’s men bounced back on Wednesday after two consecutive league defeats and it was indeed an important result for them. They have, therefore, regained confidence just in time for the important game against Liverpool.

First, however, they will face Salernitana in Serie A and as reported by MilanNews, Pioli is expected to make six changes to the starting XI. At the back, Alessio Romagnoli will be back from suspension and Alessandro Florenzi is also expected to get a chance.

In the midfield, Tiemoue Bakayoko is expected to team up with Franck Kessie and this means that Sandro Tonali will be rested. Further up the pitch, Alexis Saelemaekers will be back in the trio and the same goes for Rafael Leao. Finally, Pietro Pellegri should start up front.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Florenzi, Tomori, Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez; Kessie, Bakayoko; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Leao; Pellegri.

  1. Yess..!!! Pellegri gets the starting line up,
at least make the goal for Milan winning.,
    GO PellegriGO!!!! 🖤❤🇮🇹🇮🇩

    1. exactly what I thought as well. We need a convincing win going into the Liverpool game. Pellegri has shown us nothing. Leao or Messias should start at front.

  2. I’m worried about romagnoli being the reason why we might draw this game at least.

But it’s pellegri’s opportunity to prove the critics wrong. I hope he makes the most of it.

Prediction 2-0 in favour of milan

  3. Pellegri is a must to start. Pioli really did not give him any proper chance so far & now he wants to leave.

If he will not play full time against weakest team in the league, what was the point of having him?

For me another proof Pioli has a problem trusting some players (Pellegri, Hauge, Paqueta a bit as well – all talented, young, did not get a real chance and we let them leave cheap).

Theo and Kessie should rest as well. If we win on Tuesday we get 50m. Worth taking a risk when you face the WEAKEST team. Bolo-Toure and Rebic shold be more than enough.

    1. Paqueta has had a lot of opportunities but didn’t take them at Milan. Hauge was a great sub, but Pioli started him against Juventus and Fiorentina and he was nowhere. He also hasn’t developped into the prodigy some said he would in the Bundesliga. I hope Pellegri proves himself if he starts, but if he doens’t don’t expect him to get many other chances. If he can’t make a differrence against Salernitana then he won’t do it against bigger teams either. Rebic is injured and won’t play.
