Real Madrid boss Ancelotti reveals what he told Maldini after Donnarumma exit and Maignan signing

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has praised AC Milan for their firm stance in replacing Gianluigi Donnarumma with Mike Maignan.

The Legendary ex-Milan boss Ancelotti, who was recently appointed to lead Real Madrid in his second stint in charge, was asked for his thoughts on the arrival of Maignan from Lille following the impending confirmation of Italian goalkeeper Donnarumma’s departure.

Don Carlo managed Paris Saint-Germain from 2011 to 2013, a period during which Maignan was experiencing football as a youth product in PSG’s lower-tier teams. Speaking to the press (via MilanNews), Ancelotti expressed his satisfaction on the arrival of the French goalkeeper at Milan.

“I spoke to Maldini and expressed my satisfaction, it was a choice he made. I have known Maignan since when I was at PSG, he was a boy, and sensing his talents, I often made him train with the first team. He is a very cold type, essential in technique. You will see: he will never be spectacular, he will be always very concrete and useful,” he said.

Maignan, who recently won the first league title of his career with Lille, will officially be considered as a Rossoneri player on July 1. The comments of esteem from Ancelotti are more interesting when considering the possible market axis between Milan and Real, with names like Brahim Diaz, Alvaro Odriozola, Dani Ceballos and even Luka Jovic mentioned.

  1. Let’s be perfectly clear. It is not the fact that $rumma left that is bothering everyone.Rather the fact, that our beloved Rossoneri has not seen a dime off the transaction.
