Report: AC Milan full-back one step away from completing Fenerbahce move

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan defender Ricardo Rodriguez is closing in on completing a move to Turkish side Fenerbahce, according to a report.

Theo Hernandez has seemingly taken Rodriguez’s starting spot for the foreseeable future with the Frenchman having impressed since his summer arrival from Real Madrid.

This has led to suggestions that the former Wolfsburg man could seek a new club in the upcoming window, with Rodriguez himself telling AZ that he is unhappy at not playing as much.

Meanwhile, the agent of the Swiss international – Gianluca Di Domenico – told Radio Marte that his client needs more playing time from January and onwards, opening up to the idea of a move to Napoli.

According to a shock update from Swiss outlet RSI though, Rodriguez is in fact ‘one step away’ from signing with Fenerbahce.

The outlet adds that despite Gennaro Gattuso’s appointment as Napoli boss – a manager Rodriguez worked with closely and succeeded under – the plans have suddenly changed in the last days, and now it seems Istanbul may be his next destination.
