This has led to suggestions that the former Wolfsburg man could seek a new club in the upcoming window, with Rodriguez himself telling AZ that he is unhappy at not playing as much.
Meanwhile, the agent of the Swiss international – Gianluca Di Domenico – told Radio Marte that his client needs more playing time from January and onwards, opening up to the idea of a move to Napoli.
According to a shock update from Swiss outlet RSI though, Rodriguez is in fact ‘one step away’ from signing with Fenerbahce.
The outlet adds that despite Gennaro Gattuso’s appointment as Napoli boss – a manager Rodriguez worked with closely and succeeded under – the plans have suddenly changed in the last days, and now it seems Istanbul may be his next destination.
