Report: Atalanta midfielder renews contract as Milan watch on with 50% clause

By Isak Möller -

Milan are always looking for opportunities on the market, as we have seen in the last few years, and this summer is no different. With Champions League in the bag, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are working to reinforce the team.

One of the players on the Rossoneri’s radar is Matteo Pessina, but not for the usual reason. When they sold him to Atalanta back in 2017, a 50% resale clause was added to the deal and the player still hasn’t been sold.

In other words, as pointed out by Corriere di Bergamo (via MilanNews), Milan could sign him for half the price this summer. For now, Pessina is focused on Atalanta and has even renewed his contract until 2025, which will be announced soon.

The Rossoneri remain a constant option, though, and if it isn’t this summer then they could decide to make a move next year. After all, the playmaker role is one of the positions they are looking to reinforce.
