Report: Atalanta sporting director Sartori wanted by AC Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Atalanta sporting director Giovanni Sartori is wanted by AC Milan and Lazio, according to the latest reports.

With Marco Giampaolo seemingly set to succeed Gennaro Gattuso as head coach, attentions have now turned to getting the right people in place for an important summer mercato.

Paolo Maldini is all but confirmed as the new technical director at the club, and now he is expected to choose the sporting director he wishes to work alongside.

Lazio’s Igli Tare has been linked in the last 24 hours and is apparently considering a proposal from Milan, but now a new name has emerged.

The headline on Thursday’s Corriere di Bergamo reads: “Sartori between Milan, Lazio and renewal with Atalanta.”

Widely considered to the right hand man of Atalanta president Antonio Percassi, Sartori is apparently in demand – and could even be an option for Lazio in case Tare leaves for Milan.

Sartori has been with Bergamo club since 2014 and has dealt with the Rossoneri in the past, negotiating the sales of Franck Kessie and Andrea Conti.
