Report: Barcelona consider signing of Milan star on a free transfer amid crisis

By Isak Möller -

As Gigio Donnarumma’s contract will expire next summer, Milan are working hard to reach an agreement with his agent, Mino Raiola. Since he’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world, they don’t want to lose him for free.

The situation certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed and several big teams are keeping tabs on the development. According to Fichajes, Barcelona are one of these teams, keen on signing players for free due to their economic crisis.

Furthermore, they haven’t performed well in La Liga this season and will be looking to reinforce the team in the summer. Although Marc Ter Stegen is just 28-years-old, the Catalan side are considering a move for Donnarumma.

That being said, there is great optimism that the goalkeeper will remain at Milan for many years. In an interview with DAZN recently (via MilanNews), Donnarumma confirmed that he wants to remain at the club.

“If I want to stay? Of course, my agent will discuss it with the club. There is no problem. Mino knows what to do, the club will see. Meanwhile, I want to enjoy this moment,” he stated.
