Report: Barcelona signing Chelsea defender could pave way for Milan – the situation

By Isak Möller -

Milan would like to bring in a left-back this summer after parting ways with Diego Laxalt, now without a deputy for Theo Hernandez. It seems they could soon have an open path to Barcelona’s Junior Firpo.

The Rossoneri have been heavily linked with the defender and according to Mundo Deportivo, should Firpo leave, Barcelona could sign Marcos Alonso. The Chelsea man is one of their options and could pave the way for Milan.

There have been few updates on the Rossoneri’s pursuit of Firpo in the last few days. The feeling that the negotiations (on the basis of a loan) have slowed down a bit. However, the Catalan side making a move for Alonso could change the situation, in Milan’s favour.

Having said that, Inter are also interested in the Spaniard’s services and Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel likes the player. Therefore, it wouldn’t be an easy operation for Barcelona to pull off.
