Report: Defender makes decision over Chelsea future amid repeated AC Milan links

By Oliver Fisher -

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has made a decision on his future at the club amid links with a move to AC Milan in January, a report claims.

Reports emerged last week claiming that Paolo Maldini and Zvonomir Boban have identified two potential targets to reinforce the defence; namely Danish international duo Simon Kjaer and Christensen.

The former confirmed his loan move (with option to buy) on Monday, while La Gazzetta dello Sport maintained their stance that Milan are looking to sign the latter on the same terms.

However, Frank Lampard poured cold water on speculation that Christensen could leave Stamford Bridge this month in a press conference, causing links to quieten.

According to The Athletic – as cited by MilanNews.it – Milan seemingly have their answer as Christensen is expected to stay at Stamford Bridge until at least the end of the season.

The 23-year-old wants to change the mind of coach Frank Lampard and fight for a spot in the starting XI having made just 13 appearances so far this season for the Blues.
