Report: €46m Man Utd midfielder demands January exit amid AC Milan links

By Oliver Fisher -

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic wants to leave the club in January amid links with AC Milan, a report claimed.

Doubts have emerged surrounding the future of Rossoneri midfielder Franck Kessie as the Ivorian was left out of Stefano Pioli’s 21-man squad altogether for Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Juventus.

Milan director Ricky Massara confirmed it was a technical choice due to his poor efforts in training, and Calciomercato.it confirmed that four Premier League clubs are monitoring his situation.

The report also went on to add though that Milan are interested in signing Matic on a free transfer next summer to replace Kessie, as well as to add some experience to the midfield.

Now, Serbian newspaper 24Sata (as cited by Sport Witness) are reporting that Matic is ‘dissatisfied’ with his playing time and wants to leave the Red Devils in the January transfer window.

The former Chelsea man – who arrived at Old Trafford for a reported £40m (€46m) two years ago – is not willing to wait until next summer to find a new club.

The report concludes by adding that there is ‘very little chance’ that Matic is at United beyond January.
