Report: Ibrahimovic nears Milan renewal as ‘few details’ remain – option for an extra year

By Isak Möller -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic looks set to continue with AC Milan. Since his arrival in January, the Swede has become a crucial part of Stefano Pioli’s team, helping the Rossoneri recover from what was a very poor first half of the season.

Just a few weeks ago, Ibrahimovic seemed destined to leave the club but the confirmation of Stefano Pioli and Paolo Maldini has changed everything. Furthermore, the 38-year-old has continued to perform on a very high level despite his age.

According to Vito Angele on Twitter, only a few details are remaining for the renewal, including the bonuses related to certain objectives. It should be a one-year deal with an option to renew it until 2022 in case all goes well.

In other words, it seems an announcement could arrive soon from the Rossoneri. Although they finished sixth in the end, the significant improvement since the start of the year is undeniable and Pioli has a good foundation to build on.
