Report: Inter not keen on expiring Milan midfielder – why they will steer clear

By Isak Möller -

Franck Kessie’s contract with AC Milan will expire in the summer and there has seemingly been no progress on a renewal. A free transfer is thus looking increasingly likely but he won’t be moving to Inter, a report claims.

The city rivals have been linked with the Ivorian in the past and also in the last few weeks, seeing as a departure now is likely. However, as reported by FCInterNews, Inter have another player in mind and there is a good reason for that.

The Nerazzurri already consider themselves complete in terms of the starting midfield and they are only looking for backups, a role which Kessie wouldn’t accept. Davide Frattesi is the priority, per the report, removing Kessie from the picture.

Even though it would hurt to lose the No.79 for free, it’s at least reassuring to hear that he most likely won’t be joining Inter, unlike Hakan Calhanoglu ahead of this season. It’s a move that isn’t appreciated by the Rossoneri fans, that’s for sure.
