Report: Leonardo doesn’t change his mind on Thiago Silva – now it’s up to Milan

By Isak Möller -

Leonardo, the sporting director of Paris Saint-Germain, doesn’t seem willing to extend Thiago Silva’s contract for one more season. Therefore, unless there is a huge turnaround, the defender will leave in the summer.

According to reports from French outlet Le10Sport, Leonardo has already started looking at potential replacements, failing to reach an agreement with Thiago Silva on the salary demands. In other words, there is an opening for Milan.

The Rossoneri have previously been linked with their former player, who would arrive on a free transfer. As highlighted by Milanlive.it, however, the corporate situation of the club doesn’t exactly help, not knowing who will be in charge next season.

This will most likely be a big problem in any pursuit of Thiago Silva, as clubs generally need to act early in order to secure soon-to-be free agents. In other words, the ball is in Milan’s court, now it’s up to them to decide.
