Report: Milan set to redeem Saelemaekers – the figures of the deal

By Isak Möller -

Only three league appearances, but also a lot of running and humbleness. Arriving from Anderlecht in January, Alexis Saelemaekers has already made a mark at Milan, so much that he will most likely be redeemed.

According to reports from the Belgian outlet Les Sports, the Rossoneri paid €3.5m for a six-month loan of the midfielder. However, with the Coronavirus putting a stop to the season, it’s far from ideal for Milan to decide on the redemption.

In the deal, there are no clauses that would turn the option into an obligation, such as minutes played. Therefore, the €3.5m buy-out clause was meant to be evaluated on the pitch, through Saelemaekers’ performances.

As the report continues, though, his entourage remains confident and as the San Siro side have already paid half of the total fee, sending him back at the end of the season remains unlikely. Especially since they could probably sell him for more.
