Report suggests Milan could push for Chelsea outcast amid lack of options

By Isak Möller -

Milan are looking for another midfielder on the market, keen on building the most competitive line-up they have had in that department for a long time. However, there hasn’t been much progress in recent days.

Tiemoue Bakayoko was the Rossoneri’s first choice, and perhaps still is, heading into the negotiations with Chelsea. The clubs are yet to reach an agreement, though, and everything has seemingly been put on hold.

According to CaughtOffside, Monaco have made an offer for one of the Rossoneri’s alternatives, namely Florentino Luis. It’s a €1m paid loan with an option to buy at €30m and it remains to be seen if Benfica are willing to accept this formula.

The situation, though, could prompt Milan to make one final attempt for Bakayoko, seeing as many of their alternatives are slipping away. As added by Fabrizio Romano, very hefty demands were made very clear for one of their other alternatives.

Newcastle presented a €35m offer (including bonuses) for Boubakary Soumare but Lille rejected it straight away, per the reporter. In other words, a hefty demand that Milan most likely can’t pay.
