Report: Suso’s Sevilla redemption at risk amid team crisis – the latest

By Nikita Fesyukov -

At the end of January, Suso left AC Milan after 5 years at the club and returned to Spain to join Sevilla on an 18-month loan deal with the Andalusian club obliged to redeem the player if certain conditions are met.

One of these conditions is also qualification to the Champions League with Sevilla and the club currently sits in fourth place of the La Liga table, 5 points above Getafe who, however, have a game in hand.

However, as reported by Sportmediaset (via milanlive.it), the redemption could now be at great risk due to Sevilla’s poor results in the last couple of matches: four consecutive draws, the last one last night against Valladolid.

In addition, coach Lopetegui has recently shelved Suso from the starting line-up, with another ex-Milan player Lucas Ocampos getting much more space in his place.

Thus, the redemption is at risk. The buyout fee between Milan and Sevilla was set at 21 million euros in case the club qualifies to the Champions League which is currently a big question mark.
