Reports: Milan hoping to have three key players back for Man Utd Europa League tie

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is hoping to have three key players back for the second leg of the Europa League tie against Manchester United, a report claims.

According to this morning’s edition of il Giornale (via MilanNews), Pioli will certainly have to do without striker Mario Mandzukic and midfielder Ismael Bennacer for Sunday’s trip to Verona. The two Rossoneri players should return next week either for Thursday’s Europa League match against Manchester United and in time for the next league match against Napoli, scheduled for Sunday at San Siro.

This comes after La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reported yesterday that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be on the pitch against Udinese and Hellas Verona this week and will also miss the first leg of the Europa League match against United at Old Trafford next week. The paper added though that Milan hope to recover the 39-year-old at least for the return match at San Siro against the Red Devils.
