Repubblica: Competition for West Ham as Fiorentina join race for €20m Milan midfielder

By Oliver Fisher -

Fiorentina are the latest side interested in a move for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie this month, according to a report.

We reported two weeks ago that the Rossoneri are ready to allow Kessie to leave if their asking price is met. His agent has already been informed that his client is no longer considered a cornerstone of Elliott Management’s project, with West Ham and Wolves linked at the time.

Il Corriere dello Sport then reported that the Hammers have firmed up their interest by making an official bid for the Ivorian.

According to the Florence edition of La Repubblica though – as cited by MilanNews.it – the London club may face competition from Italy for the 23-year-old.

That is because Milan’s Serie A rivals Fiorentina have set their sights on signing the former Atalanta man. Milan would sell Kessie in January but only if an offer of at least €20million were to arrive, which would just about secure a capital gain on the balance sheets when factoring in amortisation.
