Zlatan Ibrahimovic is pushing for Marcus Rashford to join AC Milan from Man Utd on loan, according to a report, but the Rossoneri have also identified a plan B just in case.
Rashford has been heavily linked with Milan in the last few days and just this morning, Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Man Utd are open to a dry loan. The feeling is that the Rossoneri could get the deal over the line, but we are not quite at the finish line yet.
As reported by today’s edition of La Repubblica (via MilanNews), Ibrahimovic is pushing for Rashford’s arrival – having played with him at Man Utd – and is personally involved in the talks with his agent. The big obstacle, of course, is the €7m salary between now and June.
There is also quite a lot of competition, with several clubs eyeing up the Englishman, so nothing is certain for Milan at this point. Should they fail to land Rashford, Francisco Trincao has been identified as a plan B, who has Jorge Mendes as his agent (same agent as Sergio Conceicao).
It remains to be seen what will happen, but it’s clear that Milan are making moves on the market.
I’d prefer trincao, as he can play on the right. Radhford is an incredibly short-sighted solution.
Totally agree
I think the idea is to include an option on Rashford. Otherwise it’s another bandaid for a shark bite.
With a feasible option it might make sense …
Agreed… We already have Leao, Ji mine, Pulisic for that position and rashford cannot play at any other position… Remember mourinho said he was a trash striker… Very very stupid idea…
Another meddling Fail waiting to happen.
#IbraOut
I still think both can come…
4-4-2 is the endgame. Conceicao needs more strikers.
In 2 man top you need a supporter and a runner/penalty area player (most successful pairing have been either of the 2). We have Tammy (who as a sub is fine) and Morata, which can easily be upgraded to Rashford and Morata.
Trincao would be for LM/RM positions. we have LM: Leao (Pulisic, Reijnders), while RM: Pulisic, Chukwueze (Musah)
CM/CDM: Reijnders, Fofana, Benny, Musah, Zeroli
2 international spots would come from RLC and Okafor sales.
Although I think Musah isn’t solid enough for midfield center and would have made sense to go for CM/CDM instead of Trincao, but Mister will know the best.
I just read an article elsewhere questioning why we’d want Rhasford. It quotes character problems, issues in his life off pitch, tactical indiscipline, poor work rate, unwillingness to press, and after a great season 2 and a half years ago, now he’s scoring less than 25% of what he scored that season.
Why in the hell do we want this bum?
Ibra as usual showing bad judgment that can hurt the team.
Right. We should go with an opinion piece on the web.
It was GdS, not some minor web site. These are experienced professional football journalists, not some blogger posting from his mom’s basement. It’s a valid opinion; just think of it: why does Rashford’s club want to get rid of him so badly?
I hope we don’t end up making another charitable donation to an EPL club like we did when we took the hot potato Emerson Royal from Tottenham’s hands, which their fans (I personally know some) wildly celebrated.
Not to mention his indiscipline, regularly late to training etc.
Why can’t we just go out and buy a good hungry, young striker
Also Rasher is not a centre forward which is what we need
But hey revamping our left wing is also not needed given it is arguably our strongest position with Leao/Okafor
Not his preferred position but he can and has clearly played there before according to his stats and done a good job.
Left Winger 222 69 36
Centre-Forward 152 59 20
Right Winger 50 13 7
Attacking Midfield 3 – –
Second Striker 2 2 –
Left Midfield 1 – –
Right Midfield 1
I don’t know about discpline issues but nevertheless Milan has a long history of bringing in some players that was either unsettled or was considered bad apples so as long it isn’t a loan with an obligation then I have no issues testing the waters and he clearly would be an upgrade to players like Okafor or Chukwueze and also has a great deal of experience.
The fact that his stats isn’t as great as 2 seasons ago should also be put in perspective that Utd basically is in turmoil half the time and a new setting might do him and us some good.
“tactical indiscipline, poor work rate, unwillingness to press, and after a great season 2 and a half years ago, now he’s scoring less than 25% of what he scored that season.”
Why in the hell do we want this bum?”
Reminds you of certain someone?
🤣🤣🤣
No, it doesn’t. The one you hate continues to produce goals + assists regularly for the last 3 and a half seasons and just delivered to us a trophy when 0-2 down against our biggest rivals, participating in all 3 goals that won us the trophy 3-2; all 5 main professional football journalistic sources in Italy went crazy about his spectacular performance. But a troll like you and a fake Milan fan of course will not acknowledge it. Who do you think you’re fooling? Go away, ridiculous troll. The most pathetic part is that it looks like you think you’re clever when everyone here knows that you’re an idiot.
With all due respect and I mean it in respect and Im certainly no troll or Leao hater but Rashford this season has 10 g/a cotribution in a combined 1,500 minutes played whereas Leao has 13 in 1,575 combined minutes played so you can argue that Rashford basically has one game less so the contribution in g/a compared amongst them isn’t much different.
Every one is a hater and a racist when they even hint something negative about Leao. That’s how it goes here. 🙂
100% with you on this.
A player who had issues with more coaches from Van Gaal, Mourinho who said he (rashford) had a weak mentality and was a spoil English kid, to Ole who said prioritize your football career more, to Rangnick or Ten hag, and now Amorim.
This is a player that has potential, resources to be one of the best, he has played with some of the best strikers likes of ibra, cavani, CR7, had McCarthy as a personal trainer, RVN as a coach, but at the end of the day he is just there and nothing more.
We can’t have another lackadaisical player who won’t press, you can’t demand more from him and he doesn’t throw tantrums like a baby. Please save us the energy.
Okafor is gone to RB Leipzig. But anyway, I think Jimenez can perfectly be Rafa’s deputy. I agree that our priority is not the left wing. On the other hand, those who see this transfer with good eyes claim that Rashford can play LF, CF and RW so he’d add depth. Maybe.
Still, I’m worried about the discipline problems and low scoring output. We complain that our existing CF’s Alvaro, Tammy and Jovic don’t score enough (not even the very promising Camarda has managed to score for the first team yet although that’s more understandable due to youth and limited minutes) and we go get another one like this? It sounds stupid.
A player who is a one-season wonder then turns bad due to a number of tactical and personal discipline problems to the point that his club is actively trying to get rid of him, doesn’t seem to me like a good target.
We finally have a good thing going. We had enough discipline issues already this season. I worry about the equilibrium of the locker room. Even players who are prolific scorers, when they are toxic to the environment, can be more detrimental than helpful.
Like Conceição has been stressing, the mental part is often even more important than the tactical one. Even worse, when a player is said to be indisciplined both tactically and personally; then the balance starts getting too negative.
We just went through endless debates about Theo’s and Rafa’s work rate and this seems to be finally improving, but then we are trying to hire a player notorious for low work rate? Yikes.
