Romagnoli: “It would be a remarkable achievement for us to win the final”

Prestigious Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli believes the Supercoppa final is an enthralling game, and an important one for the club.

The 21-year-old defender spoke to Milan TV ahead of the game against Juventus on Friday. He says: “It would be a remarkable achievement for us to win the final, we will approach it with great confidence and humbleness.”

He continues: “For a lot of us it would be our first trophy, so we are all aware of how much is on the line. We deserved the Copa Italia but lost.”

When asked about whether Juventus’ 3-5-2 formation will impact the game, he said: “Whether Juventus play three or four at the back doesn’t matter, they’re always strong. The important thing is for us to enter the pitch with belief that we can beat them.”

He added: “Facing them is enjoyable but tough. I don’t know who they’ll play upfront, but I think they have the best attacking players in Italia.”

Milan has won six SuperCoppa Italiana, and haven’t won a silverware since 2011 when they triumphed in the same competition.
