Romano: Leeds and Newcastle links ‘not true’ as Milan believe in De Ketelaere

By Isak Möller -

Charles De Ketelaere has received some criticism since arriving at AC Milan in the summer. The Rossoneri paid €35m for his services and that price tag hasn’t been matched by the performances yet.

In his latest column for CaughtOffside, Fabrizio Romano stated that he has heard some speculation with regard to the future of De Ketelaere. The transfer rumours however, as he puts it, are ‘not true as Milan believe in the player a lot.

Newcastle and Leeds have both been linked with the player since he joined Milan, per VoetbalKrant, but the Rossoneri clearly want to give De Ketelaere a chance to blossom. We have seen it before at the club, such as with Sandro Tonali, and thus patience is needed.

De Ketelaere came off the bench against Spezia last night and while he didn’t have a huge impact, he showed off some skills. A goal, or maybe even an assist, could do him really well and perhaps unlock his abilities.

    1. You must be joking. Kvaratskhelia is the new Kaka and Napoli wouldn’t swap him even with Leao. Last year I sent a letter to Maldini and begged him to buy him especially when Kaladze said the same to Maldini. Paolo bought de Keteleare for so much money. Adli is a much better player if you ask me.

  1. I’m not sure why they’d be interested in taking him at the moment. The most promising thing is that their scouts agreed he is an excellent prospect, because we’ve seen little evidence of this so far. However, Pioli and his team have a good history of integrating talents so fingers crossed he can do the same here. CDK looks lacking in every area at the moment though, so he’s going to have to give them something to work with.
