Romano: Milan accelerate attempt for €15m defensive starlet as Juventus watch on

Milan will be looking to add a centre-back to the squad in January, having struggled at the start of this season due to injuries. By the looks of it, they have identified the perfect player for their project.

According to Fabrizio Romano in his latest piece for CM, Matteo Lovato is a name on the Rossoneri’s wish list. An investment is expected in January and although Hellas Verona want to keep the youngster, Milan are keen.

The Rossoneri, in fact, are starting to get serious after the first contacts took place recently. Paolo Maldini has evaluated the potential signing and has decided to move forward, as he knows there is a lot of competition for the 20-year-old.

Certainly, players like Ozan Kabak and Nikola Milenkovic are on the wish list, as the report continues, but the economic conditions are demanding. As for Lovato, Milan could snatch him at €15m, starting from the €20m request in the negotiations.

There is no time to lose because Milan know that Juventus are one of the clubs that are following the centre-back, among others. Work in progress, the Rossoneri are there and the tactical idea is that Lovato can play perfectly in a four-man defence.
