Shevchenko says it was ‘beautiful to see the great spirit’ of Milan against Verona

Former AC Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko has said that it was ‘beautiful’ to see the great team spirit that the Rossoneri showed against Hellas Verona on Sunday.

Speaking during an interview with Sport Mediaset (via Milan News), Shevchenko spoke glowingly about the way that Milan managed to beat the Gialloblu at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

The Rossoneri took the lead early on but were then pegged back by a shot that deflected off of Matteo Gabbia.

The game was then stuck in a stalemate for a long time but Sandro Tonali managed to come up with the goods against Verona once again as he found the winner in the 82nd minute.

The celebrations that the goal sparked amongst the Milan players and bench showed how tight-knit the group is.

That is something that Shevchenko clearly agreed with too as he said after the game: “I watched the game against Verona and it was beautiful to see the great spirit of the team. They did the best they could and brought home three important points.”
