The Council of San Donato continue to be wary of the fact that AC Milan are pursuing multiple stadium projects and are readying a letter.
Milan and Inter have officially sent Sala an expression of interest for the future acquisition of San Siro and the surrounding area, but it is not ‘binding’ in any way. This allows the two clubs to possibly take a step back in the future, given that the Rossoneri are also proceeding with their San Donato project too.
As Calciomercato.com report, Massimiliano Mistretta – the councillor for Public Works of San Donato – has responded to the latest news regarding San Siro and what it means for the San Donato plans.
“With seriousness and correctness, we are proceeding with the technical-administrative process, which has now reached the Vas phase, the Strategic Environmental Assessment,” he said.
“Whether or not the stadium will be built in San Donato depends on a series of variants. For our part, it is essential that some critical issues are overcome, which we have not failed to highlight. Do Milan want to keep more options open? It’s legitimate.”
The Mayor of San Donato – Francesco Squeri – had a telephone conversation with AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni in the last few days, in which it was confirmed that the option of a stadium in San Donato remains the priority and that the parties would meet in person shortly.
According to Calcio e Finanza, the offices of San Donato are preparing a letter of compensation, in which they will ask Milan to reimburse the expenses incurred by the Council if the club decide to abandon the project.
Scaroni needs to learn to keep his mouth zipped.
Man is causing us a lot of headaches when he opens his trap.
Looking forward to diving into your expense report – let’s see if those lunches were as ‘essential’ as they sound!
