Sarri confirms Ronaldo injury ahead of AC Milan clash

In his post-match interview with Sky Italia (via MilanNews.it), following the important 1-2 win away at Lokomotiv Moscow, Maurizio Sarri confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo is suffering from an injury to his adductor.

The Bianconeri secured their spot in the knockout phase of Champions League, but Ronaldo was brought off in the second half. On Sunday evening, they will take on AC Milan at the Allianz Stadium and their star could miss the game.

“Ronaldo got angry because he isn’t fully fit. He has had an issue with a knee for some days now and an adductor easily gets tired. At the end of the first half, he was nervous because the adductor was creating problems for him.

“Then in the second half, I noticed a movement he made when accelerating, which I didn’t like. I was afraid that he would really get hurt, so I decided to take him off,” Sarri said in the interview.

Of course, this would be a huge boost for Milan. Then again, the chances of getting a win, let alone a point, are very slim for the Rossoneri. Furthermore, Ronaldo might make it back in time for the game.

Judging by Sarri’s words, though, it’s possible that the Portuguese might get some rest. After all, Juve have enough squad depth to beat Pioli’s men, who have failed to turn their season around after a very poor start under Giampaolo.
